whee i finally have time to blog again! whee. anyways what have i been up to? hahah don't really know but hey my life was fun for once.. haha more or less considering. hahaha and guess that's one of the huge reasons why im really considering staying... don't think life will be as it was back in jc even if im still stuck in sg.. i mean right now life's alright i guess..even thou i AM stuck in sg. from now till july. it's abt time my admissions letter come... damn i hope i get accepted... so i can keep my options open. or maybe pray that i get rejected by one of them.. let the big guy upstairs, whoever he is, help me make my decision on which uni would be better for me. choices suck. im glad i dont have to go nus or ntu.. i mean i'll be heading for a second nj if i go there. so yea... time for me to step off convention. i mean my essay for smu is abit unconventional actually. if u ask me, im taking the risk prob just cuz i have a choice. which is good.
in uni think it's pretty independent, alota ur life depends on urself, the friends u wanna make, who u wanna hang with and stuff... so it wont be as forced. I remembered why i wanted to leave so much already in nj it was like leave or die. haha but shall not go into detail, but my reasons were justified. no more sacrificing my life for tangible things, like studies. cuz eventually u find results depend lots and lots on u, not the school u go to or the people in those school. selfcontrol, all abt selfcontrol.
anyhows.. anyone else likes this song? franz ferdinand's take me out. im not a huge fan of franz ferdinand.. prefer rooney.. there's this new genre taking over... the... jet, franz ferdinand, the killers, rooney, caesars, kinda genre. sparked off by the ipod revolution. using funky songs in their funkyass ads. electrico has a sound that's sth like that too. and i actually prefer their version of take me out over that from franz ferdinand. i've even ordered their album frm gramophone already. cuz haha after sunday, some of their songs like studman(think it's this one), i want you, runaway and this new song on their nxt album(played it at rouge)... got stuck in my head. electrico's good, but sg's market is so small, there's lots of uncertainty abt whether they can break into other markets, esp us market. if they're even targeting it. but yea in the us market it's more than just sheer talent that gets u somewhere. it's all abt connections alot of the time. which is why if i go study marketing media and shit like that in the us.. im a screwed shit.. what connections do i have there? wtf?
anyhows. been listening to us and canadian radio stations. they play really good music... they're not just trend-followers...but trend-setters..they play anything good, not necessarily popular. there's this one in nyc ithaca, that has really good music sometimes... and then one in gayneville florida that plays pretty good songs too... and then another one in vancouver that plays good rock. and the one in ithaca played alota great songs like lifetime by better than ezra, duncan sheik's barely breathing, etc etc.. songs they dont play here. who the hell's heard of better than ezra anyways. but the nxt song to come up onto the airwaves here should be caesar's jerk it out. it's soooo goood. and they played switchfoot's this is your life... it's DAMN BLOODY good. haha. and they played a couple of songs from some indie bands. think when i visit nyc when i go overseas,(gonna go see my bro in nyc first) then im gonna go frequent all the cd shops.. WHEEEEE...
ARGH. IM SCREWED. MAY 1ST, BY MAY 1ST, I HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION!!!! argh. and i'll have to finish sending my documents over by may 1st too. whee. im amazingly screwed. so much to do and im still more preoccupied with playing.
anyhows. went to the smu open hse w mervs and guess who i saw? lots of old friends yes.. neil fu zhizhou! man it's been what... 10 yrs? haha... he looks better now.. way better now.. haha we saw each other and it was like *frown* and nxt...we were like "i know u right?" then "oh!!!" then neil: "u're xiaoyun right? or sth?" and i was like... "wtf! no!!! xiaomin! ... eh. sorry. i forgot ur name.." then he went "neil here!" i went "neil fu zhizhou!" hahaha... so lame.. like a reunion in the corridor. really cool thou. saw bert too.. he's in air force.. hoping and praying he doesnt drop out... haha his hair looks odd thou.. as if he still has his fringe but no more hair. haha... weird and haha he's still in that trucker cap phase. hahaha.
OOOOOOOOOOOOO they're playing a mix of boulevard of broken dreams and wonderwall! and damnnn it's damn good...i want it! damn damn damn! wah lao... i love it it's damn cool la! they meshed the lyrics really well too.. oh man.
anyways back to the topic.. smu... the smu pple were really really articulate.. interesting people. and nice people too. but then again that's a really teeny population. haha some people dint even know the smu open hse was on that day.. eg. weili. but then again guess he prob cant be bothered with it. anyhows. the new smu campus is soooo niceee.. and i love the idea of a small classroom size.. lets u get to know pple more easily, thou merv made sense when he said that smu doesnt seem like a uni.. more like.. lse that kind. small classroom size and stuff.. so i'll basically not feel the uni life that much. but the small class size is a huuuggeee draw... haha i love getting to know pple and the small class size.. getting to know pple would be a breeze. oh wells uni choices can sometimes kill man. so confusing.
anyways aft that smu open hse forced merv to go watch robots with me... he's like my kiddy movie buddy too la... hahaha no one else wud watch robots... or racing stripes.. hahaha only he will cuz i forced him into it. hahahhaha whhheeee.. what's wrong with kids movies anyhows~!there's a kid in all of us... anyways sth happened the day b4 this open hse that... totally absolutely pissed me off... hahha but it's been resolved. hahaha buddy's made the right choice. gosh. what a lemming. anyhows robots was ok.. there were funny parts but the plot is abit messed up, ending is abit lame too. but like the effects ya? haha... and the voiceovers were cute. haha..kinda overhyped actually. ok now let's see what i wanna watch. stage beauty, miss congeniality 2, what else that's good that's coming out?? hmms. damn la everyone's going overseas already im gonna be very very bored soon... clare's going to us in april, and think cheryl's prob gone off already to china for her mission trip. BLEH. month long mission trip might i add. and the guys are stuck in army.. 3 wks confinement. hahaha i have a sad life. hahaha...
wells went dbl o laz thurs n it was pretty good... met up with david, leslie and sonny there too. haha david cancelled his clubbing trip to kl to drink in sg cuz the age limit over there is 21 anyways so he might just get thrown out anyhows. initially the music was soooo horrible like.. techno shit. even david was complaining but later it got better ya. hahah 10 mins aft xw decided to go cheeky monkeys and learn to appreciate bhangra. hahaha. well this time i brought bell with me and clare and haha she actually had fun clubbing thou she's a first timer. hahah so cute.. she told sonny she's what.. bell sagamoto and jap chinese and etc etc. haha sonny knew all of us were faking our identities. haha david introed me as xiaomin then sonny didnt catch it.. then he asked me and i went.. summer. and david started laughing. haha. damn this faking identities thing is catching on with everyone ard me bleh. no longer original let's do sth more drastic! whee. anyways yea bell thinks sonny is a nice guy. hah. anyways clare's pocahontas. does she look like a pocahontas? i bet tonight she wont intro herself as pocahontas.. esp in front of.. ahem. hahaha

anyways bell stayed over and we talked.. like abt how we missed sec2.. when we were sooo havoc.. haha oh man.. irc corrupts. but yea without all that havoc we wreaked as a class clique... we wouldnt have gotten to know alota pple we still know today. haha... never regret being in 2/2 despite that much drama we had with each other. we talked abt everyone.. talked abt jc.. talked abt how it's really sad when our old friends go jc and become too preoccupied with themselves and their image more than old friends. like the fact u've known someone for close to a decade doesnt matter anymore. like the fact u used to have a friend u stood up for no matter what the world thought of him.. then after jc, he's too preoccupied with looking good, with that alterego we all have. oh wells. life's like that. i miss these people i used to know, but who knows if i'll ever know them again. they probably dont even know that they are that impt to their friends from way back when. anyhows. yea... the nxt day then recuperated from sleeping at like 6/7am... slept and slept till jeremy woke me up with a bloody irritating call at the wee hrs of... 1 sth pm. hehe.
k then at night... was 1 hr late meeting rachel for ronin's gig at esplanade... but yea she had fun watching some model catwalk thing. ass. anyways yea those models were like.. perfect. unfair. endless legs, refined features. damn. anyhows later on met up with jeremy at esplanade to watch ronin. they were pretty good, played one song i liked... but forgot to ask lerping which song it was. but dunno what got into me.. i was pretty shy didnt talk much to lerping haha maybe i suffered the same symptoms as rach. haha... but yea the rest of the band look attitudinal. haha. oh wells. should i join the pr pple helping them promote their album and org minitour? hahaha i better have fun doing that la. if im still in sg i'll help out la... but blehs. june/july i'll be abit busy with prep for overseas etc. dunno la. but ronin's sound isnt the type i like... but they can appeal to hard rockers.. however small the market is. anyways lerping looks like sly! hahaha... a whiter version la... but yea thinks he seems like a nice person in life. anyhows. jeremy introed us to this girl called sue-ann, she's pretty cool very outspoken and siao. haha... she reminds me of someone.. cant remember who. but there's sth very familiar abt her behaviour.
later we went rouge.. im so nice.. helped jeremy with getting a cigar for dan. i was the only 18 yr old there. rouge was great man.. ive been to rouge like.. 3/4 times already then like this is the best time ive ever been there. there was the stassh session, every last friday of the mth... we should really go for it everytime nxt time! the hiphop's a mix of old school and new school. lots of old sch esp towards the end thou. electrico played before disagree.. electrico was better live. disagree was abit too heavy for me. electrico's got lots of funk... and amanda is sooo pretty! haha it was quite cool like cuz me rach and jeremy could go into this corner where the bands were hanging out without being stopped by security and yea sat with some members of the band awhile. it was like so dumb hahaha we went there to look for jeremy once and bumped into william instd and rach said the security guard told us to go ahead and wait in there. anyways. then later the band played and it was so bloody freaking good.. mind blowing in fact... haha we were moshing(not extreme) in front and yea dan was damnnnn good. haha it's stuff like that that makes me prouda sg, not all that propaganda. nice to believe that sg has talents. later got introed to more members of the band plus leonard soosay, their producer. and yea we wound up hanging with the band abit... like desmond e bassist.. got jugs n jugs of vodka orange and stuff and we were like.. doing those kinda dumb lame old school dancing in a grp to songs like paperboy ditty. dave was djing. think desmond is really nice and friendly la haha the whole band is really nice and friendly.. real down to earth. and yea during the band segment.. the dj played really good songs like.. rooney's i'm shaking, those songs u hear that's like funk-inspired. electrico is absolutely electrifying live... you should all go watch them live! amanda is so pixie-ish in real life nothing like that maxim photo(i cant believe i even looked at jeremy's copy) and yea jeremy and dave were right abt how that photo was kinda distastefully taken. oh wells.
anyways later on like as the club was abt to close, the only people left were those who knew the band and stuff haha and it was pretty cool it looked like a private party and shit like that n we were still stuck with some bunch of pple like desmond and some of their friends and roadies and jeremy. hahaha.. nice to have jobs that u love actually. bleh if only one day i could play in a band! wheeee.. ok im dreaming off the scale.
anyhows aft the whole thing we went 711 to get a drink then off to flag a cab.. and rach the smartass said that those yellow taxis have a lower midnite surcharge so we stood in the middle of the road trying to flag one of those hahaha... and sooo funny desmond was like huh? when he saw us and asked if we wanted to take the cab he was abt to get into(which is damn dumb cuz there were millions of cabs ard hahah) then rach went "we're looking for a big yellow one!" haha lameness.
wells, hopejam's turnout was kinda pathetic... but i did have a good time sunday. in the day went down to drive... then later on went to fort canning to see what i could help out. gosh fort canning is SO difficult to find. anyhows just went and didnt really do much actually.. haha council has made me a help with the pre-planning but not much of execution person darn. hahaha. anyhows then scooted off to meet siyu, her bf, denz and bell hahaha sec2 gathering damn i miss sec2 n to think we were only just talking abt sec2 on friday. i was the huge lamp. anyways then finally kiwi and bernard came. bernard looked like a bloody fag as usual.. so pretty man. kiwi.. i didnt really known him back then la. haha but quite funny we sat in long john silvers and talked cock.. played with hps, esp bernard's superchio motorazr, and then i was trying to take pix of a coupla cute guys that came in.. plus this girl who had a super obvious tanline and she was wearing a toga so it looked weird. but i thought it was nice bernard thought it was stupid. and yea kiwi was like aiyo tsk tsk u one of those who take pixes of pple without them knowing tsk!

but it was just fun even just sitting in a fastfood place with a bunch of old friends...it's like so fun we can talk abt every damn thing lingerie etc etc even with the guys ard hahaha. ooo!!!! i love this radio station.. it played really great songs u dont hear here... new york radio station... lifehse's fairy tales and castles and heather nova's london rain. good stuff! haha... anyhows. yea the gathering was great fun, then later cabbed back to fort canning to help out and found that they didnt really need my help anyhows cuz the turnout sucked. the sd system rocked and the bands were damn good.. me, rach, jeremy, sueann and this super cute guy dominic, were moshing for electrico haha... sueann was moshing for ronin too. then we crowdsurfed sueann and carried her all the way up on stage. hahaha... so funny. later on dave was like "u're the one who went on stage right? cuz we couldnt see anyone frm up there and suddenly we saw like this head coming up like some ghost" haha... and yea we were like pushing each other and all wah craziness. haha and jeremy carried me up too i wanted to kill him it was a bloody ploy by jeremy and rach. oh and rach's top almost got ripped off. haha.
talked to leonard soosay awhile.. jeremy being the bigmouth told him i was going overseas haha... oh yea the band members thought i was the younger one at rouge.. haha damn. and i was actually the oldest among jeremy and rach. they referred to me as the short one and thought jeremy liked me. maybe cuz jeremy and rach were being assholes and threw me to william.. haha then i was there giving them the "what??" look then william spun me ard and i was like huh? hahhaa. but he's so cute haha... leonard was spot on he was like "who do u think is the hottest in the band? for you i think it'd be dan and william" hahaha. oh man but william's drumming is so zai. haha but at hopejam when i told him the gig was damn good and he went "my blisters!!! the plaster's coming off!" hahaha and showed me this plastered finger haha. but yea the band really has a passion for playing.. totally admire that. haha oh and desmond's supposedly the joker in the band and dave went "desmond shall tell some jokes today" and yea he did some clown joke that was damn lame. then later on they're like who else wants to be a joketeller today?? and i went "jeremy!!!" hahaha then dominic went "jeremy IS a joke!" haha quite funny he was sooo embarassed. then aft the gig dave was like "jeremy u can come up and tell ur jokes!" think leonard's real friendly and yea the whole band and their roadies and producer and stuff are really funky.. amanda's kinda quiet thou. but yea im proud of them! hahaha one reason to be prouda sg.. but not many others really.
anyhows...this week is starting to suck... hahha ytd was supposed to go watch weili spin at forbidden city at this body paint fashion parade, but cudden go in the end cuz stupid la djs cant get pple on the guestlist but wells he tried appreciate that. haha cuz someone! didnt wanna pay! haha... blehhh ahaha he was like "wah liews y ur frens so not spontaneous one... how bout this u come and i'll intro u to a friend of mine" haha nah im not abt to go alone la. oh well he residents at hideout so maybe one friday i'll go there to visit and see. haha... this fri it's prob gonna be zouk thou i said i'll try to pop by to visit haha. but oh wells this thurs gonna crash smu with shao.. for weili's lectures... creative writing and business strat.. i better not fall asleep!!!! but he's a senior i doubt i'll understand the lectures. oh no! gonna be so embarassing if i fall asleep! haha... i think im starting to get along with my bro more.. haha what with the help of minesweeper and him making more sense without shouting it at me. i can even get along with his friends already. thou they are bloody old.
or maybe it's cuz im starting to get to know more old pple... hahaha all those my age are in already. sucks. oh wells haha cuz i wasnt gonna go forbidden city ytd was supposed to go with lerping to "drink and burst balloons" but haha i didnt really get back to him abt that. haha.. aiya short notice. and csi last epi k. i love grissom!! he's the most intriguing 3 dimensional character i've ever known. i wanna take up drama/acting when i go overseas.. but i doubt that will ever happen. this stinks. what. the. hell. anyhows...this friday going with clare for some april fools theme party at zouk hahaha penance for chickening out on me. haha and maybe the band's gonna come join us cuz lerping wanted to go clubbing this friday.
haha...wells someone help me see the bright side of going smu. anyhows... haha david has glow in the dark ice cubes! haha his company got free samples and im gonna get some hahaha... so funny. his company's pple dimmed the lights and switched on hiphop and used the glow in the dark ice cubes when the boss went out.. sooo cute. i wanna work there! haha and we're gonna go get sonny drunk(he supposedly cant hold his drink that well) and haha we're gonna be drinking buddies! hahaha lame... he's a bloody alcoholic.. cuz his family opens a bar and hotel and maybe nxt would be a lounge. hahaha.. so he bartends and djs there so if i go visit i'll get free flow! yay. so interesting... over here dont think there's such a thing as a family owned bar/club/whatever.
oh wells. getting to know pple is fun! ahaha... but really how long can this last.. when i enter uni it's prob gonna be back to the same old lifestyle i hated... the reason why i was so desperate to get overseas. life's never that piece of cake. u can hardly ever have ur cake then eat it too.
life bugs me.. lots. i want a refund on my life.
