watched lots of shows recently, tuck everlasting on disney, dodgeball, big fish, and my second time at dirty dancing 2.
tuck everlasting is actually a remake of an old movie. and it's on this book by natalie babbitt... called... uhm tuck everlasting! it's really sweet.. it's set in the like 19th century. and there's this girl called winifred foster... who's got a really unbridled nature for that period of time... she likes to try new things likes to do the things boys do too and likes to daydream out in her garden, staring into the sky. and then her parents want to send her to this girls' sch far away that's like pretty much one of those shit places where girls go to to become groomed to become what, educated wives? gosh. well then so she runs away, like according to the narrator, "she had always wanted to step outside the fence, and that she did." or sth like that.. can't remember. but well uhm the narrator was good. haha... well yea the movie's really really sweet really nice and all..absolutely adore it man..kinda brings into mind what u'd do if u had forever to live, forever to be with the ones you love, forever to do everything u always wanted to do, just.. forever. u could do things the slow way(like the tuck family in the show), there won't be such a thing where u don't have time for a loved one, or u don't have time to just admire everything around u. u wont be caught in the ebb and flow of the city... basically kinda like leading a simple life. really nice and beautiful life. u don't need the world ard u, u just need to be with those u love. like the tuck family. so nice rite? and haha according to the forum, some people commented that jesse tuck(youngest son in the family) seemed quite taken with pre-teen girls.. hahaha in the older version of the movie that is. like how in the old movie winnie was a 13 year old girl and he, a 17 year old guy. hahaha.... just seemed really pre-pubescent. hehe. anyhows yea this newer version's real nice, the relationship built between winnie and the tucks as well as winnie and jesse tuck is really nice really sweet and warm. i totally loved the waterfall scene when jesse sorta dared winnie to jump in thou she cant swim n well she did! haha... quite sweet then he was there making sure she doesnt "swallow too much water, sink like a rock and die" haha... yea go watch it la. and damn cool the parts where they get shot by the guard and don't die... they looked like really cool with the whole 19th century "killers" getup. heh. then they get shot and get back up. oh and the ending's really really sad... like he asks her to go drink from the spring and when it's safe he'll come back for her... then there was this scene where she's looking into the spring water, and then there's the voices of jesse and angus tuck... and then the scene changes. turns out she decided not to drink from the spring to be together with jesse tuck. but the ending's so sad like jesse tuck comes back years later, goes back into the woods, and when he gets to the giant oak tree, he sees winnie's grave there. and there seemed to be this giant wave of sadness that overwhelms him and he just kneeled in front of her grave, just staring at it sadly and all while the narrator speaks. yup it's hard to see how this scene can be tt sad but u've gotta watch it really it's like the 3rd movie ive ever cried at la...im like how qiang one.. ahhaha. but hey man last time it was lion king and titanic. forgiveable yes? haha. but it's really sad la. haha
oo yea dodgeball was good too! ahaha... u gotta grab life by the balls. or so the movie says. i love the whole aim low shit. haha... it was a damn damn funny movie... really sweet too, as in the ending. haha... and damn full of shit. like the whole luck of the irish thing falling and crushing patches. and the damn lame and corny dodgeball video. and the himbotic commentator and esp ben stiller's character. haha he's really a guy u'd love to hate. but adam sandler's comedies are still my fav wahhaa... ben stiller's ones are more dirtball type. adam sandler... abit unconventional, nice, warm, funny n sweet! haha... yea but dodgeball's pretty good...
dirty dancing 2 was as usual, damn bloody crazy good. whoa the dancing's like really really good... makes u wanna go fly to cuba and go to some havana club or sth. haha... sad ending thou. and diego luna is super super cute. the dancing was also really good! and there was johnathan jackson as james phelps... haha johnathan jackson acted as jesse tuck in tuck everlasting too... thou he looked better in tuck everlasting... haha or maybe cuz he was a really good guy in tuck everlasting but a total dirtball in dirty dancing 2.
big fish was also really nice... esp the ending.. the plot was weaved together perfectly.. n the ending's like telling u the truth of everything. like fully develops the character of the father, and tells u what a person he was, what his stories really were, and how he wanted his life to turn out to be. he's not going to die, not just like "that". even his death has to have a beautiful tall tale about it.. everyone's lives he's touched is there... and he becomes the big fish he's always wanted to be. really nice story.
anyhows yea watched terminal too yesterday! haha it's okay la... quite cliched n predictable. but amazing to see how a guy can turn the airport into his home. n tom hanks' accent is kinda phoney. and it isnt really a romantic comedy.... it's pretty pointless, really... haha but there's diego luna! haha... wheeee... but yea it's kinda nice the kinda friendships he forges with the people at the airport. haha. but all in all pretty unrealistic.. thou a nice one to watch...
anyways prelims are over but i dun exactly feel that one bit relaxed. hah. bloody As. haha... had the choice of going out but i decided to rot at home again today. haha... starting to get used to it. quite fun la. tv tv tv tv. i just dont have enough vcds. and i have to quit waking at 2 sth... cuz it damn right gives me a damn headache. haha the only great thing abt this prelims and living thru it is that im one step closer to freedom and my next big gamble. flying away from here to a place where maybe i can start anew, with friends, the whatnot. pple who don't really know me, or pple who would know only what i want them to know. yups. maybe it IS my reflex reaction to like to run(uhm really, really figuratively). aiya i'll just take the gamble... maybe i'll find the place where i really belong. haha... somehow nowadays everytime i watch a show or sth... i'd wish i were in that show... i lived in such a fantasy world, where everything's much simpler. hahaa... n all those tv shows are supposed to have complicated plots huh. haha but the details in the real world are wat makes things complicated. like pple being really... unpredictable, really two faced and stuff. makes u just wanna go into another world where u know what's going to happen, and everything. haha which explains why i love that 9pm show so much much muchie! haha... cuz it's really sweet and well interesting... like everyone in the show has such an interesting life. haha.. n the ending's a happy ending... and damn blackie.... a good singer with such a soothing voice? mannnnn i mean the guy's voice can give u sweet dreams man. haha and he's soo... blackish? hahaa nice la... and nice eyes and so blur. so nice. haha... and the girl's like damn damn cute... she's totally against convention n tradition and is so damn stubborn... ahaha she obviously likes the "ugly orange"(the blackie), who has the simple exterior but really beautiful interior, but just cuz he was betrothed to her by her parents, she dint want to admit that she likes him! or reveal that she's lijun to him! haha and he's like how devoted and how dumb la. so obvious she's lijun. gosh. u cud strangle him sometimes. but u'd love to love such a guy man. haha... totally love the show. i wanna go be an actress so i can really become part of a predictable world. predictable yet interesting! haha rantings and ravings of a crazyshit.
